As a parent-to-be, designing a nursery is one of the most exciting parts of preparing for your new arrival. And what better way to create a magical nursery for your little one than with a Space theme that’s out of this world?

Choose a Colour Palette

Colours set the stage for any nursery, and for a space-themed wonderland, you'll want a palette that captures the magic of the cosmos. Think deep blues, indigo, and black to mimic the starry night sky.

If you’re going all in on the theme, a stylish way to add depth to the design is by extending the wall colour on to the woodwork and radiators too. This makes the room feel more spacious and cohesive.

If you're not quite ready for a darker wall colour, fear not! You can choose neutral walls and opt for a deeper ceiling colour instead of the usual white. This trick works like magic to instantly create a cozier atmosphere in any room.

For that extra touch of celestial elegance, don't forget those metallic silver and gold accents!

Furniture to make it pop

Go bold or go home! Consider rocket-shaped bookshelves for your future astronaut's reading corner, or planet-shaped bean bags for comfy lounging.

Want to infuse a bit of playfulness? Add bright oranges and yellows! These pieces are not only fun and unique, but they can also serve as statement pieces in the room.

Create Layers of Cosmic Comfort

Piles of pillows (moon and star shaped, of course) on top of starry blankets and constellation-patterned sheets bring the theme to life.

Drape a sheer voile at the window to filter in the light, then when it's time to create the perfect sleep environment, blackout curtains layered over the voile give your nursery a luxury, high-end look.

Space-Inspired Wall Art

Introduce space-inspired artwork like prints of the Milky Way or framed posters of our solar system. This not only adds a pop of colour to the room but also turns learning about the cosmos into an exciting adventure for your little one as they get older.

You could even add some artwork of your own! This is a theme you can really go to town on, so if you’re feeling creative, paint a wall with black chalk paint and use it as a backdrop to create a masterpiece in chalk here like @e.t.shown_home

Light up the night sky!

Let's make bedtime truly magical! With the right lighting, your baby's nursery will be perfect for play, sleep, and stargazing! I am OBSESSED with this planet shaped pendant light, and you can never have too many fairy lights for this theme IMO.

A glow-in-the-dark star ceiling can also create a truly immersive atmosphere for your little one. Don't forget a celestial nightlight! It's not only cute but super practical, keeping those nighttime visits cozy and secure.

My Favourite Bit - Accessorising!

Every detail contributes to the magic! Celestial decor elements like a solar system mobile, hanging felt planet garland, and wooden wall art all add charm and personality to their space.
